The man Bogdan playing- His music is fun, fucked up, charming , innocent and banging(at the same time!) and my favourite of the wave that included; Sqaurepusher, Mike Paradinis, Aphex et.

The last time he played, he was drunk /out of it-

all the idm heads were getting really pissed off, he kept falling on
the table with his laptop and rolling around,
kept getting pulled off, hitting play again, then falling again, as portions of
the crowed got more pissed off.

I was cheering.

one of me fav gigs ever!

Major gig tonight-Ghetto Quietly with their first release -Prince Kong’s amazing Proper Horror Show.  One of the most important Irish dance releases ever, mark my words. Free double vinyl of the album with the ten euros admission.

What do you get if you cross the DJ Producer with Diplo and The Bug? Maybe something close to Prince Kong on ‘Proper Horror Show’. After a couple of storm-troopin ragga cuts for Alphabet Set and !Kaboogie Records he’s made an even more uncompromising effort for the newly minted Ghetto Quietly label, reeling between bushwacka Ragga-gabber on ‘Angsta’ feat Jah Balance, to hyper-Soca rinseouts featuring MC Quilombola on ‘Whailt’ and ‘Cazz’. It’s fair to say there’s not really owt around like this so it’s the finest example of this style that you’re going to find.

Note there’s not ‘owt around like this’ – Just what Irish dance music needs – people with their own sound and Prince Kong’s has nailed a sound that’s got roots without sounding like it’s apeing a scene anywhere else -a rare quality in an Irish dance record.

In all the talk and theory about Micheal Jackson, one thing that has been missed is the genius of Chis De Burgh. He was also in the charts at the same time as thriller and is played at weddings just as much.

And, like how many music greats(Jackson included, even though he’s dead) can claim to have fathered a miss world(a miss world!) and to have survived the sultry temptations of worldwide fame and bad staff in order to hold their families together. No mean achievement.

16hrtz  and Oshroom are Irish producers who get the genius of Chris and understanding his Argentinian links, they gives him a beats and bass mash/update worthy of Cumbia’s best rich kid exploiters scenters while avoiding the risks of exploitation associated with working with such delicate and great  material .
